Jean Claude Lavigne op, of the French Dominican Province (Paris) and currently socius to the Provincial, is an economist. He has also been Director General of Économie et Humanisme and Director of ESPACES (Dominicans for Europe).

Hugues Puel op, of the Province of Lyon, has been involved in the Économie et Humanisme movement for more than 40 years, as recounted  in his book Économie et Humanisme dans le mouvement de la modernité (2004, Paris: Le Cerf). He taught economics in the University of Lyon, researching into labour economics, and business ethics in Africa at the Université d’Afrique Centrale, Cameroon (1998–2004) and the Catholic University of Lyon.
